Marketing Materials for October 19, 2024

it is crucial to remember that the success of our shows relies on everyone's efforts. While I will be doing my part to promote the event, your self-promotion is equally important. By actively marketing yourself and the show, you help attract more attendees and create a vibrant and successful event for all.

Please take the time to share the provided materials on your social media, website, and with your network. Your participation in promoting the event can make a significant difference.

Thank you for your cooperation and enthusiasm!

Sharing the Event on Facebook

To ensure a cohesive and effective marketing strategy, it is important that all vendors share the official event created by the coordinator on Facebook, rather than creating their own separate event.

Creating multiple events can lead to confusion among attendees and reduce the overall impact of our collective marketing efforts. It can also create suspicion and distrust, as potential visitors might question the legitimacy of the event.

Please share the official Facebook event on your social media and encourage your followers to join and share it as well.

This unified approach will help us reach a wider audience and ensure a successful event for everyone involved.

Posting Flyers in Various Locations

One of the key elements to ensuring the success of our events is broad visibility. Posting flyers in various locations is a simple yet highly effective way to increase awareness and draw more attendees.  All it takes is posting one or two flyers in locations you frequent.

Why Posting Flyers is Helpful:

  1. Reach a Wider Audience:  Flyers placed in strategic locations such as community centers, local businesses, cafes, and libraries reach people who may not be active on social media or who prefer physical reminders.

  1. Create Local Buzz: Seeing flyers around town helps to build anticipation and excitement about the event. It reinforces the presence of the event in the community and encourages word-of-mouth promotion.

  1. Complement Online Promotion: Combining online efforts with physical flyers creates a multi-channel marketing strategy that maximizes our reach and impact.

Promote Your Participation Online

To help increase visibility and attract more attendees, I encourage you to list your participation in the event on various online platforms. Here are some popular sites where you can promote your presence, just make sure to follow the rules by those sites:

Local Community Websites

  • Many towns and cities have community websites or forums where you can list local events.

  • Examples include Nextdoor and local community pages on Facebook.  When posting, use the official event image if possible and clearly state that you are participating in the event. Some pages may also allow you to share the official event directly. The key is to ensure that people know you are a participant. You can also direct people to this site's show schedule page which is www.itzthekatzmeow/show-schedule if they use Facebook, they can go to the event by clicking on the image.  An official Facebook Event Page Image (.png) **This size should work on most sites and can be found at the bottom of this page.  If you need a different size, just let me know.

Craigslist

  • Craigslist Events

  • Post in the "events" section of your local Craigslist page. ** Again if you create an event here you as doing so as yourself or you business name and you want people to know where your small business will be participating.

Instagram and Twitter

  • Use event-specific hashtags and tag the event’s official accounts.

Provide Event Details:

  • Include date, time, location, and what attendees can expect from your booth.

Other ways to promote yourself

WIX Shout Outs:

  • In the past, I have used a WIX Shout Out to email all vendors and website contacts. This made it convenient for vendors to forward the email to their family, friends, and followers without much additional effort. Unfortunately, vendors were either unsubscribing or not opening the email, so I decided to stop sending it. Starting in 2025, vendors will have the option to opt-in for this email on the registration form, allowing them to use it for marketing purposes.

A Simple Postcard:

  • What is this, you ask? Years ago, I began creating postcard-sized handouts to have at my table for attendees to take with them. How often have you been at a show where a shopper asks where you’ll be next? Despite their good intentions, most won’t remember. This handy little postcard can inform them of your upcoming shows and help them find you. If you're not tech-savvy, for a small fee to cover the cost of paper, ink, and my time, I would be happy to create such cards for you

By listing your participation on these platforms, you increase your visibility and contribute to the overall success of our event. If the site you list on allows you to use an image, make sure it matches the one used on Facebook. Remember, do not create a new event on Facebook; instead, share the specific event provided.
